The firm is separated into departments which are responsible to carry out individual functions. Though the duties and functions of individual departments may run concurrently at times, each department offers a specialised range of services which are designed to satisfy all of our clients’ needs.

ACCOUNTS

The principal objective of this Department is to assist clients in the production of accounts in accordance with the relevant standards and to facilitate their audit, if applicable.

Where the Accounts Department maintains clients' books, it must ensure that the records are so arranged to facilitate a proper review or audit.

The responsibilities of the Department are:

  • To ensure that the accounts of all accounting clients are maintained on a timely basis;
  • To prepare a summary report on the accounts for discussion with the client;
  • To provide schedules and other working papers for the accounts and audit departments;
  • To review the accounts and raise such queries to ensure a smooth and effective audit;
  • To maintain clients records in an organised and systematic manner.
  • To ensure that clients’ payrolls are accurately prepared and delivered on time;
  • To advise the client and to ensure that all statutory and other obligations are met;
  • To maintain adequate records on diskette and hard copies of all reports;
  • To ensure that all statutory requirements relating to registration, remittances and termination are complied with.

 

AUDIT

To ensure that audits are completed in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) whilst protecting the Firm from any liability.

The Audit Partners is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Guyana and have Practising Certificate from the Institute. We provide audit services to companies and unincorporated concerns such as partnerships and charities.  We also undertake special investigations on request.

Responsibility for the Department lies with the Audit Partner who has the responsibility for co-ordinating and disseminating throughout the Firm information relating to changes and development in accounting principles, auditing standards, techniques and practices, terminology, statutory and stock exchange financial reporting requirements.

The Partner is also responsible for achieving standardisation of audit procedures throughout the Firm and in this regard his concern is the organising, conduct and assessment of post-audit reviews.  He is supported by an Audit Managers and teams of supervisors and audit clerks.

            The department has the following responsibilities:-

  • To provide to the clients of the Firm audit services carried out in accordance with International Standards on Auditing in a cost-effective manner;
  • To provide advice and assistance to clients via the management letter on areas of internal controls, cost efficiency and systems;
  • To organise the resources available to ensure their proper deployment and timely completion of all audits;
  • To provide support to the other departments of the Firm as required.

 

TAXATION

The Firm offers both a corporate and a personal tax services.  In the performance of our service we seek to ensure that our clients benefit fully from all the rights and comply with all their obligations contained in the various tax legislations.

Our taxation service is tailored to meet the special needs of each of our clients and to act for and represent him in all correspondence and interviews with the Internal Revenue Department.

A Partner is responsible for the development and co-ordination of all taxation services including the dissemination of information within the Firm and to the clients.

The principal responsibilities of the Department are:

  • To prepare and submit on a timely basis all tax returns for the Firm's clients.  In most cases the information including preliminary tax computations will be supplied by the Audit Department.  In the case of non-audit clients the Accounts Department or the client will supply the unaudited accounts;
  • To carry out thereafter all communication and interviews with the Inland Revenue Department;
  • To provide advice to the audit staff on any tax peculiarities concerning the client prior to the commencement of audits;
  • To ensure that clients are advised in writing of the amount to be paid on each instalment;
  • To ensure that all clients are advised of relevant tax changes; and
  • To maintain adequate information on all tax matters for each of our clients.

 

 LEGAL

The principal objective of this Department is to provide corporate legal support both within the firm and to our clients. This is done through our network with qualified and experience law firms.

The responsibilities of this Department are:

  • To co-ordinate and disseminate throughout the Firm and to clients information on any matter relating to the Companies Act, Registration of Business, Stamp Duty, Exchange Control, Bankruptcy, Liquidations and Receiverships;
  • To maintain in safe custody, all statutory records and files relating to clients being serviced and ensure that all statutory returns are made or filed by their due dates;
  • To provide secretarial services and advice to clients to ensure their conformity with the requirements of the Companies Act;
  • To prepare annual returns, statutory notices etc. for submission to the Registrar of Companies;
  • To assist in company formation and liquidation;

 

ENGINEERING

The principal objective of this Department is to design plans and supervise / monitor works for our clients. This is done through our network with qualified and experience engineers.

 

EVENT MANAGEMENT

The principal objective of this Department is to plans and organised all minor or major events for our clients. This is done through our network with experience event planners.

 

TRAINNING 

The principal objective of this Department is to provide trading to meet our clients need upon the request our clients.
